Have you ever worked for a company and you didn’t get what you felt you should out of it? When you are doing something just to get by and make ends meet of course you want to get what you want out of it. It’s not meant to fulfill your dreams or visions, it’s just there as a stepping stone to get you to your next stop. The time has come for you to figure out what you truly want and how you will be happy when you receive or accomplish it.
Every time I work a job I would truly forget that I had dreams because I would jump into this job head first. I would be working overtime, studying to get through training and just focusing on the job. However, that doesn’t help the fact of me putting my goals, dreams, and vision on the backburner to help someone else accomplish theirs. There are situations that will happen at work and honestly would make me remember that I had dreams and goals. When that happens these are the questions I have to ask myself.
- What goal should you be working on that will help you get closer to your dream?
- Is the overtime money helping you fund your dreams?
- Do you make time to focus on school and your dreams?
- What do you need to learn from this job that will help you accomplish your dream?
All I’m saying is don’t put your whole life into a job and forget the true reason why you applied. If this job isn’t helping you financially, mentally, or physical fund your dreams, goals, or vision then you need to slow down. Learn how to use your job as a stepping stone to be funding your dreams, goals, and vision. If you began to think about the job as your dream funder than you wouldn’t feel stuck or irritable when you clock in. Make sure you don’t forget your dreams, vision, and goals in the process.
