I wrote a motivational letter to myself. This was a suggestion from someone on my Facebook to do. It took me a whole week to write this letter. At first, I didn’t know what I would write that would be motivating. So, I procrastinated and kept putting it off. I had to figure out what to write in this letter and hope it made sense.
I’m one of those people that don’t celebrate my success or don’t look at it as a big deal. And when I think about a motivational letter I think about all that I’ve accomplished so far in life. I also think about how I kept pushing to accomplish these things. Let’s not leave out how I’ve grown spiritually over the last two years or the loses my family endured. All these things have some type of motivation in it. I just had to figure out what it was.
Two years ago, I wasn’t trying to do anything to do better I life. I knew I needed to but I wasn’t in the mindset of doing so. All I cared about was working and paying my bills. Those were the things I did daily and it still didn’t satisfy my need to succeed or do better. After the first two deaths in my family, I knew that I needed to change my life. I started speaking what I want in life into existence. And those things came to me but I still didn’t know how to appreciate it.
In two years my life changed in so many ways. It took for me to reflect on 2015 to realize I should be motivated just by waking up every morning. Finally, I grab my pen and started writing. I used this letter to remind myself of how far I’ve come and why I need to keep going. When I was done I’m like be proud of yourself Mariah because baby you’ve come a long way.
If you’re at a place in life where you want to start accomplishing them and you don’t know how. Give yourself a reality check! Remember how far you have come in life and where you are trying to go. No matter if you are an ex-felon, single mother, deadbeat father or mother, drug users, alcoholic, high school or college dropout or a person who never completes things just know that you can overcome it all. Start building yourself up and use this letter to tell you that anything is possible. Don’t give up just gain motivation to keep going.
What is your motivation?
